Matcha Cocoa Latte

I developed this recipe over time as I wanted the health benefits of Matcha Tea, which is equivalent to the antioxidants (ORAC) found in 10 cups of green tea, but I wanted to make it more flavorful and even more healthy.

Matcha tea contains antioxidants known as catechins, which aren’t found in other foods.  The catechin EGCg (epigallocatechin gallate) provides potent cancer-fighting properties.  Matcha has 137 times more antioxidants than regularly brewed green tea.

Here’s my recipe for a great tasting Matcha Cocoa Latte:

1/2 tsp Organic Matcha Powder (it’s more money but Ceremonial Grade is least bitter-more smooth).

1 tsp organic unsweetended cocoa powder.

Sprinkle of ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom powders (choose 1, 2, or all 3).

Add 1/2 hot water 1/2 nut milk to tea cup (if you have a steaming wand-you can make a more traditional latte-if not, use cold milk-thats what I mostly do because it’s faster).

If you use cold milk-whisk briskly until frothy.
