My name is Alison Jayne. I have been a fitness enthusiast since I was 12 years old when I got my first set of weights.  While in college (1987) I took a Nutrition course that changed my life forever.  I started reading labels for the first time and changing my poor eating habits.  I began to realize that what I put into my body would affect my quality of life and state of well being.  I realized that my body was in fact, my Temple.  I began to seek health from the inside out.  Knowing that if I take care of the inside, the outside would naturally follow.

Twenty-seven years later, I remain in constant pursuit of knowledge that enables me to eat healthier without having to sacrifice my love for food and flavor.  I believe that I can still be a “foodie” and be healthy at the same time.  This is how I live my own life, in balance.

I have my own version of eating which I call “substituting”, which is not a fad or a diet.  It’s just a way of life.  The concept is straightforward: substitute an unhealthy food that you are currently consuming with the healthier version of that food.  I do so in the supermarket and in my own cooking and baking.

Eating this way over the past 15 years has proven to be a successful strategy.   As I observe people gaining weight and beginning to have diet related health issues, I continue to maintain my weight and good health which allows me to do all the active things I want to do in life.

Essentially, I have been my own guinea pig for years.  Now my intention is to share all of my tips and knowledge with others in order to improve lives, health, and well being.

To augment my personal experimentation and experience, I obtained the Precision Nutrition Certification and am now certified as a Nutritional Consultant. I am re-certified every 2 years.

To compliment my Nutrional Coaching for overall wellness of mind, body, spirit.  After 11 years of practice I’m now teaching Yang Family Tai Chi and various styles of Chi Gong.  These practices are moving meditations that remove energetic blockages, lower blood pressure, increase circulation, calm the mind and central nervous system, create inner harmony and balance, as well as other health benefits.

I am also a Source Point Therapy® Practitioner in Training, Module 1.  Which is a an Energy Work health modality.

My other interests include kayaking, weight lifting, hiking, meditation, rock hounding, and mountain biking.
